Our Sample Packs - Save the Dates & Invitation Suites

Wedding Invitation Samples | Gothic & Alternative Designs

See It, Feel It, Before You Choose

We think we take it for granted, how beautiful our stationery actually is in hand. Every order is carefully printed and packaged by us, and we get to hold each piece before it goes out the door, something you don't get to do from behind a screen.

There are so many wedding stationery options out there, and we know we're not the right fit for every couple. Not because the quality isn't there, it absolutely is, but because our style is a particular one, gothic, celestial, tarot, alternative. A Sample Pack lets you find out for yourself, before you commit to anything, whether it's right for you. We want you to feel completely confident, happy and secure that our pieces look as good in your hands, sometimes even better, as they do in photographs.

"My fiancé and I ordered our save the dates from Birdhouse197 and they looked even better in person than they did online. We were also impressed by the packaging, you could tell a lot of time and care went into it." - Katie, Google Review

Save the Date Samples

A curated selection of our best selling save the dates, so you can properly feel the difference in paper quality between them before you order. We offer an essentially unlimited range of colours and combinations, so this pack is about getting a genuine feel for our formats and finishes, not the final design.

What's inside:

Victorian Folding Letter: pre-folded so you can experience the reveal for yourself, matte card
The Bleeding Heart: red-to-black gradient print with rounded corners, A6 matte card
Dusk & Dawn Celestial: our celestial design in gold foil on blue
The Skeleton Lovers Tarot: jet black matte card, a classic
Plus an A5 Sun tarot print, a small thank you from us with a one-time discount code on the back.

If you place a full order afterwards, we'll send a digital mock up first so you can see the final files and make as many amendments as you need, genuinely unlimited. And if there's a specific design you're desperate to see in the pack, pop it in your order notes and we'll do our best to include it. We can't promise every request, but we'll always try.

Every pack includes a £14 discount code, redeemable off your first full order.

Questions About Your Sample Pack
& Placing a Full Order

Can I choose the exact colour or gradient?

Absolutely. While your sample pack shows a curated selection, black, colour and gradient pieces, we print in essentially any colour or gradient combination once you place a full order, so you can match your exact wedding palette.

What envelopes come with my order?

Every full order comes with white envelopes as standard. Black is available too, as an add on at an extra cost. Your sample pack includes one of each, so you can decide which feels right before you order.

Can every design be foiled?

Most of our designs can be foiled, and it's a genuinely stunning premium finish. Gatefold cards are the one exception, they can't be foiled. That said, we think our matte, non-foiled pieces are just as impactful in their own way, your sample pack includes both so you can compare and decide for yourself.

Can I combine elements from two different designs?

Often, yes. Because you're speaking directly to us, not a template tool, we're genuinely happy to talk through what you have in mind and advise on what will and won't work well together.

Do you design everything yourselves?

Every single piece. Designs start as an initial sketch from George or Joshua, then get illustrated and digitised for printing. No AI is used anywhere in the design process, just our own hands and our love of the wonderfully eclectic.

Where are your samples and orders printed and shipped from?

We print and ship our products from the UK.

We ship to the UK, US, Canada, Australia and a range of other countries, with full tracking on every order. Unfortunately we're unable to ship to the EU at the moment due to new packaging regulations.

Will I be charged customs or duties on my order?

We ship to the US every week, and it's rare for anything extra to come up. If duties are ever applied by customs, it's outside our control, but it's genuinely not something our couples commonly run into.
